The decaying old buildings become less common. Once more, the rust retreats from the cars seen on the sides of roads. The sense of decay is less tangible here. I wonder if it is absent entirely, or just kicked under the rug. Under a higher echelon of department store maybe?

ATHENA (Notes):Here ends Ryan’s contribution. We arrive at the house around 11:10. We take showers and set off for the city around 1:00 pm.

ATHENA (Notes): 1:30ish pm - We arrive at the train station. The train watching begins. We ride the red line to metro center, where we switch to the blue line to foggy bottom. Ryan walks ahead in a bit of a trance of determination, while the others struggle to keep up. We arrive at Ryans old dorm. He points out the dorm room he used to live at. It is decided that the worst curse is “may your shit run like piss and your piss like shit.” We get lunch at Carvings, and Will almost falls asleep. Ryan observes that Carvings has changed. We walk to the National Mall.

ATHENA (Notes): We walk down past the watergate, where four presidents are quoted. We round down to the Potomac Waterfront in georgetown. We make wishes in the fountain, and Athena promises she’ll bring back more if her wish comes true. The AMC theater’s smokestack looms up. We cross the georgetown canal. We make our way to Clyde’s. Everyone orders steak frites. Everyone is pleased.

ATHENA (Notes): An uber is ordered to the Tiki Bar, much to Emily’s chagrin. The uber driver we get is in everyone’s top uber drivers of all time. We arrive at the Wharf. Will’s cousin Ryan greets us and ushers us into Tiki TNT. We all get zombies. They are “technically one drink.” The gang wanders drunk out of Tiki TNT towards the metro. Athena gets crossed. Athena, very crossed, navigates the group to the L’enfant plaza metro and back to the medical center. Fin Jones makes his appearance. Fin Jones will piss on government property. We take an uber home, and collapse at 11:30 pm.
